IN HIGH SCHOOL I CONTINUED PLAYING...TAKING IT MORE SERIOUSLY.
2014, EVERYTHING CHANGED...
UNKNOWN TO ME, THE DRUMMER AT THE CHURCH WHERE I PLAYED WAS THE MUSICAL DIRECTOR FOR THE R&B SINGER, TYRESE. HE RANDOMLY ASKED ME ON A THURSDAY, "HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEXT WEEK?" I TOLD HIM, "NOTHING". THEN HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO PLAY GUITAR AT A GIG THE FOLLOWING WEEK IN SAINT KITTS. I ASKED WHO WOULD I BE GOING WITH AND HE SAID TYRESE, BUT HE SAID IS SO FAST, I DIDN'T EVEN HEAR HIM. AND SO WE KEPT TALKING. LATER IN THE CONVERSATION I ASKED WHO WAS THE ARTIST AGAIN BECAUSE I WANTED TO GET A HEADS UP ON THE MUSIC. WHEN HE SAID, "TYRESE", I LITERALLY PUT THE PHONE ON MUTE AND SCREAMED WITH EXCITEMENT! I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY!
